Calm Torment
We recently worked a cardiac arrest where a woman collapsed while enjoying a dinner her husband of 50 years prepared for her. When we arrived he was doing CPR on her in the middle of the kitchen floor while following the instructions given to him on the phone by the dispatcher. Other family members were in the living room in a state of unbelief and worry, they greeted us with such relief. People seem to think when we arrive we’re going to save the day and everyth...

The Paramedic doing CPR in this image is Allan Dignard. Allan and I work for the same service and he has started a fitness initiative geared toward first responders. I ate to try and make myself feel better about my mental illness, at the time it was one of the only things that made me feel better. I know now this was a result of my post traumatic stress injury and it just compounded the negative way I was feeling. Physical fitness and healthy eating is such an important way for me to stay mentally fit and that's why I'm supporting Allan's work 100%. He is targeting first responders and will be posting motivational material and recipes to help us stay or get into shape. You can follow his page here https://www.facebook.com/ThirdAlarmFitness
Congratulations on your great work Allan, I'm proud of you brother.

It has also been used many times to simulate the Japanese Mitsubishi Zero in movies depicting World War II in the Pacific.

Thousands of Canadian airmen and ground crew served with RCAF and RAF Lancaster squadrons in England, during the war. By late 1944, the Canadian No. 6 Group of Bomber Command operated thirteen squadrons of Lancasters in the war against Germany. At home, thousands more Canadians w...
