Calm Torment
We recently worked a cardiac arrest where a woman collapsed while enjoying a dinner her husband of 50 years prepared for her. When we arrived he was doing CPR on her in the middle of the kitchen floor while following the instructions given to him on the phone by the dispatcher. The Paramedic doing CPR in this image is Allan Dignard. Allan and I work for the same service and he has started a fitness initiative geared toward first responders. I ate to try and make myself feel better about my mental illness, at the time it was one of the only things that made me feel better. I know now this was a result of my post traumatic stress injury and it just compounded the negative way I was feeling. Physical fitness and healthy eating is such an important way for me to stay mentally fit and that's why I'm supporting Allan's work 100%. Here's a photo painting I did of the engine of a T-6A Texan. The North American Aviation T-6 Texan is a single-engined advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), United States Navy, Royal Air Force and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II and into the 1970s. It remains a popular warbird aircraft used for airshow demonstrations and static displays. It has also been used many times to simulate the Japanese Mitsubishi Zero in movies depicting World War II in the Pacific.
This is the Avro Lancaster MK. X, a prominent bomber in WWII, this particular plane is still flying and I first saw it and photographed it a few years ago during the Abbotsford Airshow in BC Canada.
