NY fire dept. debriefs after shooting at house fire

LeROY, N.Y. — Firefighters shot at while responding to a house fire debriefed after the incident Tuesday night.
WHEC reported that the LeRoy (N.Y.) Fire Department came together to discuss the shooting.
The suspect, Kyle Johnson, is believed to have set his house on fire and then went to a neighbor’s house and shot dead 68-year-old Norman Donald Ball. He also fired at the first firefighters on scene as well as police officers. No responders were injured in the incident.
One of the firefighters shot at was the fire chief, according to the report.
"The chief right now is shaken up. We had to send him home. It’s scary. We don’t know how to deal with stuff like this," Assistant Chief Tom Wood said.
Members of the department went back to the fire hall for a counseling session. None of the firefighters shot at are prepared to speak publicly yet, according to the report.
