ICYMI: This is a great training idea if you haven't done it already.
They found that firefighters were being dragged under water by their gear and their air tanks didn't help keep them afloat.

Dave Thomason we tried it years ago. The turnout gear was still dirty and really made a mess of the water in the school pool. We were not allowed to come back ... It was fun though ....

Andrew Wilton I was skeptical when I started the video. I expected another gung-ho safety guy to tell me how roof operations are ineffective and dangerous and should never be done.

And then I was pleasantly surprised. He touched on all the major point of roof ops.

The girl's mother, father and 9-year-old brother made it out of the fire. Another 15-year-old brother was not home at the time of the fire.
Arriving firefighters found first floor fully involved; the girl was trapped on the second floor.

This is unacceptable.
Only about 3 percent, or 600, of Canada's 22,000 firefighters are female.

Dylan Navratil This article sucks, it stated that one department with a few women had a problem, not all of Canada, I've worked with a few women on a fire dept, and they didn't seem to get bullied or sexually harassed, so this shouldn't be so generalized. I'm sure it is a country wide problem, but I don't think it's an epidemic to have to say "Canada's female fire fighter" it shouldn't happen in any country, ever.

Talk about dedication. Could you run that much?
Butler calculates he ran 1,207.94 miles over the course of the project, which involved rerunning some of the same streets.
