Advance historic page from April 25, 1969: Transit bill awaits approval
A bill authorizing the appropriation of $18,750,000 from the state fund for the modernization of the Staten Island Rapid Transit passes its second test when it is approved by the Assembly.
The bill will now go before Gov. Nelson Rockefeller for final approval. If Rockefeller approves the bill, the money needed for improvement will become available.
