    • Jason Loomis I recently had a patient that admitted to IV heroin use. She had cellulitis to the left had. This was the injection site. She swore that she did not miss. It was later determined that her local narcotic pharmacist prepared his product on the same surface as he did with his crack cocaine.

    • George Rodriguez My only deal is if this is so effective why is it not spreading like wildfire? Second off not to sound rude or obnoxious why aren't these patients or healthcare educators at hospital and dr offices not formally educating these patients. Who does the really benefit the hospitals or ems? If someone still wants to go to the hospital. I'm confused as to where this paramedicine is heading or suppose to head

A little historical perspective and the need for a common-sense approach to hemorrhage control.
Direct pressure, used in conjunction with limb elevation in extremity bleeding whenever feasible, will control the vast majority of external bleeding. However, controlling bleeding sometimes requires prehospital providers to take aditionals steps.
