To have community backing, dispel the common belief that firefighters stop training once they are on the job. Here's how:
Each and every firefighter needs to change the perception one civilian, one civic group, one public official at a time.

Also, we have Texas Eastman in our district, and they have their own fire brigade, which some of the members of our dept are on, so if it is a SHTF deal, we would be able to work together pretty well.
That figure is from just one week.
The agency has spent all the money Congress provided for fighting wildfires in the 12-month budget period, forcing it to borrow money elsewhere.

Students will get certification so that they're immediately eligible to be hired by fire departments in Detroit or elsewhere.

Welcome inquiries. Explain things patiently. Don't get defensive or indignant.
They come off as village idiots, screaming and raging at firefighters; in reality they are simply ignorant of what we do.

I went to the store an hour ago and I saw them inside getting stuff. Their truck was right next to my car. (It's beautiful in person) I support the firefighters (although I am a little biased because I want to be one) lol. But forget what complainers have to say.

The fire department is currently working with leaky fire trucks, worn out equipment and broken radios.
The reason why the equipment isn't up to date, according to the department, is due to the city budget.
