FDNY dashes dryer fire at house in Arden Heights

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The FDNY responded to a dryer fire in the basement of a house in Arden Heights on Thursday morning.
An "all-hands" response of 12 units and about 60 firefighters was made for the fire, reported at 10:02 a.m. in a two-story house at 556 Carlton Blvd. The fire was brought under control at 10:30 a.m. with no injuries suffered, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.
