The National Statistics and Census Institute (INDEC) has revealed a 1.1 percent rise in industrial activity over August compared to the same month last year, while the sector was almost static with regards to July.
The parallel dollar rate rose eight cents today despite strict government controls to trade above the 16-peso barrier, selling at 16.01 pesos while the blue-chip and stock market rates recovered after heavy early falls.
Juan Manzur, the newly elected governor of the province of Tucumán, whose victory was ratified by the provincial Electoral Board, said the fraud accusations by opposition sectors against the Victory Front (FpV) party were “a strategy to discredit a convincing result.”
