Poll ANO would win Czech elections ahead of ČSSD

Prague, July 10 (CTK) - The ANO movement would win the Czech general elections, if held now, with 25 percent of the vote, and the Social Democrats (CSSD) would end second with 21 percent, according to a fresh election model released by the Median agency.
Apart from the two strongest government parties, the 5-percent parliament threshold would also be crossed by the opposition Communists (KSCM), TOP 09 and the Civic Democrats (ODS), and the junior government Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL).
The KSCM would win 13.5 percent of the vote, TOP 09 12 percent, the ODS 8.5 and the KDU-CSL 6.5 percent.
The strongest parties that would end below the threshold are the extra-parliamentary Pirates (3.5 percent) and the Dawn movement, which is represented in the present Chamber of Deputies but would gain only 3 percent of the election vote now.
The recent fall of the Dawn's voter preferences, caused by internal turbulences and Dawn's split in the past months, has stopped, nevertheless, the pollsters said.
Election turnout would be 58 percent now.
A higher determination to take part in elections was, as usual, mainly expressed by people over 60, while young people under 24 showed the lowest interest in doing so.
People's willingness to take part in elections also rises together with their level of education, Median said.
It said ANO, headed by Finance Minister and billionaire Andrej Babis, has the highest election potential of all parties. If ANO were supported by all voters who favour it and do not rule out their participation in elections, its gain could cross 30 percent of the vote.
The election potential of the CSSD, led by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, stands at some 27 percent.
Median conducted the poll on 1003 respondents from June 6 to July 6.
