Bird population of Central Park is impressive...great place for bird watchers.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes stories, once did a famous piece for a magazine on " Hunting the Cormorant with a Camera"...
The Reservoir used to have it seemed only one cormorant, now has more
People tell me there are so few pigeons because of the hawks...I haven't seen the hawks so far but I guess they are there
Middle of the week...not all that many people playing tennis at mid-day
I sometimes make the mistake of calling these "wildflowers"..nothing is wild really in highly manicured Olmstead fantasy land of Central Park
Where on this visit we run into more than our fair share of park workers and patrol vehicles
They said it might rain but it only rained in Brooklyn and Long Island this day...Overcast skies above Park lightened as afternoon went on
