Great job by the Louisville KY fire dept. they had a great stop! Looking at this picture how many use their aerials in an aggressive offensive mode? Store front blitz attacks are fairly common with tower ladders but doesn't seem as much with sticks.

  • Michael Heeder It takes "out of the box" thinking to deploy a blitz attack like this, but if you plan your ventilation and have a good pre-plan of your building, you can deploy this nozzle for maximum water delivery without placing firefighters in the hottest of the hot zone. Why the pre-plan? You need to watch out placing your equipment in the collapse zone.....
  • Bryan Davidson My department tried that years ago and destroyed the ladder, cooked everything on the tip and ladder.

  • Joseph Hans Finally some intelligence on the Internet! Great job by the crews and great job by this site! Nice to see some good firefighting and not a bunch of balless wonders hiding behind their safety vests and clipboards. I'm not saying be insane, but to quote Lt. McCormick "put the fire out and safety is achieved"!

  • Michael Garmany Good job. That is the reality of most fire response in the country. Understaffed, and the crews adapting and making some great rescues. Also the ladder angles worked, regardless of NFPA standards. Good job again!
