OMG New Orleans is Finally Getting a Trader Joe's (Sort Of)

We're getting a Trader Joe's! Well, Metairie is. But that's closer than Baton Rouge! WWL-TV reports that everyone's favorite organic grocer is planning a location at Veterans Memorial Blvd. and N. Labarre Road in Metairie. The store is scheduled to open in the second half of 2016.
TJ's says the store will be 10,200 square feet. The space in Metairie is near Lakeside Mall. It's also not too far from the Metairie Whole Foods. 
Soon, no longer will New Orleanians wanting frozen blintzes and Two-Buck Chuck need to drive all the way to our state's capitol — where the only other Louisiana Trader Joe's is — to get them. Maybe Metairie really is "the best suburb."
