Ukraine's disgraced former president, Viktor Yanukovych, has accepted some of the blame for the killings of scores of protesters that led to his downfall in February 2014. "I don't deny my responsibility," he told BBC Newsnight's Gabriel Gatehouse in an interview that aired on June 22, when asked about the shooting of protesters at Kyiv's Independence Square, commonly known as the Maidan.
