Diane Rehm Has Bernie Sanders as Interviewee ( Socialist Democrat from Vermont running for President)

Bernie Sanders is telling the truth about how big money has bought up the Republican party and is planning to make the top 1% of the population ( a hundred of whom or so have more money than something like 150 million ordinary Americans combined)

I don't believe he can be elected of course but he can serve an educational purpose

One of the most important points he made was that the Republicans have learned nothing from Afghanistan and Iraq and want the U.S. to fight an endless war in the Middle East when in fact the only way the issue can be resolved is for the Islamic countries in the region to "step up to the plate" ( like Saudi Arabia and its huge defense budget and military capability) and the timid Turks etc. who all want to sit back and let the U.S. do it for them...the hell with that

Also, Bernie is a tough old guy but he is no match for all the expensive lies and shenanigans of the ultra wealthy in this country and their Cayman Island money stashing etc.

And their plans to cut Social Security for the poorest people and cut taxes on the richest etc etc etc which was outlined by the Koch Brothers back in the 1970's and has been a billionaire's project ever since

This silly question about Sanders having dual citizenship with Israel came up

People are upset Rehm asked him

I am not mad at her for asking at all, since it is more of the nonsense that is being thrown around the internet

It is absolutely ludicrous to suggest Diane Rehm is anti- Semitic because she asked that question

How hypersensitive and foolish can you get

Of all the important things there are to be upset about, how can people work up a sweat about this little bit of nonsense?

Sanders: Youth unemployment a 'national tragedy'

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Monday called youth unemployment a “national tragedy.”

“It is beyond comprehension that we, as a nation, have not focused attention on the fact that millions of young people are unable to find work and begin their careers in a productive economy,” the senator, who's seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, said in a statement. “We cannot turn our backs on this national tragedy.”

Sanders pointed to an Economic Policy Institute study he requested that showed the real unemployment rate for black high school graduates, ages 17 to 20, was more than 51 percent during the 12 months ending in March. The jobless rate for Hispanics in that age group was just under 34 percent.

The study of Census data also found the real unemployment rate during that period for black college graduates, ages 21 to 24, was 23 percent. The rate for Hispanics was just over 22 percent and close to 13 percent for white college graduates.

Sanders said high unemployment among these demographic groups correlates to higher incarceration rates.

“The answer to unemployment and poverty is not and cannot be the mass incarceration of young African Americans,” he said.

The ranking member on the Senate Budget Committee is focusing his presidential campaign on the struggling middle class and sky-rocketing costs for college students, among other issues.

Last week, Sanders introduced a bill with Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) that would provide $5.5 billion to state and local governments to employ 1 million young people between the ages of 16 and 24.
