* 6/18/15 Update on Fresno Fire Captain Pete Dern
Pete wasn't able to eat all day. His NG (feeding tube) was clogged and the Drs will replace it during surgery.
Although starving and had little energy, he worked with his physical therapists including climbing a flight of stairs, doing squats at the top and coming back down the flight of stairs. He then walked unsupported around the 5th floor and ended with giving his daughter McKenzie a huge hug.

  • Kevin Henson Good work. Be humble. Be first in and last out for everything from drills to mopping the bay's. Don't belittle your team mates, help others to succeed. Listen to senior firefighters for they have experienced more then you likely every will. Be humble and appreciative and remember to respect the our occupation has earned. It is not about s paycheck, it's about a commitment. Hope this helps. Be safe.

9 Boston Firefighters gave their last and most precious sacrifice.
May we NEVER FORGET
Today we remember the nine Boston Firefighters that died in the line of duty at the Hotel Vendome on June 17, 1972. Several of their sons and relatives still serve on the job. May they rest in peace.  ‪#‎boston‬ ‪#‎fire‬ ‪#‎firefighters‬ ‪#‎neverforget‬

Nearly 14 years after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on our great country our nations first responders who answered the call to help rescue and clean-up "the pile" are still sick and dying.
The Zadroga Act, which was passed to help our nations heroes recover, get and stay healthy is due to run out of $$$ funding this October.
