Upon conclusion of our Explorer program in partnership with Madison Park High School and the JROTC the Boston Fire Department hosted the Firefighters Fitness Challenge.
Current Explorers competed against future Explorers in a three part obstacle course. First they dressed in full bunker gear and while wearing a blacked out mask, escaped through a wall, secondly they ran with a hose and rescued a mannequin and thirdly they dressed a hydrant.

BFD participated in a multi agency drill at the MBTA Emergency Traing Center. In a smoke filled tunnel they encountered a bus explosion with multiple actor victims, (sorry we didn't have Emmy's for some of them). They were hit with possible hazardous materials, shots fired, and a victim trapped under an eye beam. It is hard to see through all of the smoke but it is good to know our firefighter's and police officers are ready for anything.
