09/17/2014
Are we forgetting the meaning of 9/11? Fire Engineering Editor in Chief Bobby Halton and Fire Rescue Editor in Chief Erich Roden tackle this tough question as they host the inagural Humpday Hangout. Joining them are Rick Lasky, Mike Dugan, and Ben Fleagle. They also tackle the issue of ethics in the fire service.
RICK LASKY retired from the fire service after 34 years of service, which included serving as chief of the Lewisville (TX) Fire Department for 12 years. He has served as the co-lead instructor for the FDIC H.O.T. Firefighter Survival program for more than 10 years and is an editorial advisory board member for Fire Engineering and a member of the FDIC advisory board.
MICHAEL M. DUGAN is a 27-year veteran of the Fire Department of New York, where he served as captain of Ladder Company 123 before retiring in 2012. As a lieutenant, he served in Ladder Company 42 and was a firefighter in Ladder Company 43. He has been involved with the fire service for 39 years.
BEN FLEAGLE is a captain with the University Fire Department in Fairbanks, Alaska.
