FDNY: Sept. 11 Memorial Staff Deliver "Dear Hero" Cards

[Share]Published: December 18, 2014 9/11 Memorial Staff Deliver "Dear Hero" Cards to Firefighters 9/11 Memorial staff deliver the "Dear Hero" cards and banners to the members of Engine 10/Ladder 10. People who visited the 9/11 Memorial over the Thanksgiving holiday were asked to sign thank you cards for members of the FDNY, New York City Police Department and Port Authority Police Department. On Dec. 18, Memorial staff delivered about 200 cards and two patchwork banners of children's photos to firefighters from Engine 10/Ladder 10, located across the street from the Memorial.  Firefighters hang the banners at the firehouse. This “Dear Hero” campaign is part of #Tribute2983, a program designed to spread kindness and compassion to honor the 2,983 victims of Sept. 11, 2001, and Feb. 26, 1993.
