San Francisco, CAI have been here 3 or 4 times,
I'm a big fan of the Thanksgiving sandwich. Every time I have come here, I left full and happy. I brought my Dad, who happens to love pot pies more then anyone I have ever met. Chat N Chew had a pot pie special and he could barely finish it.
If you are in the mood for some good comfort food in New York, I recommend this place.Comment from Jamie M. of Chat 'n Chew 9/22/2013Harry thank you for your comments. We strive to give the… More » -

Utica, MIThe hardest thing to do is STOP eating because it's so darn good. I found out they recently revamped themselves (based on feedback from their customers) and it shows - GREAT food and good service too (some older reviews show different).
Wings and the Mac & Cheese are my fav - but everyone at my table had something different and they all tasted great!Comment from Jamie M. of Chat 'n Chew 9/13/2013Matthew thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoyed it. Come… More » -

Midtown East, Manhattan, NYCute place, but the service and food are subpar. I asked for stout, waiter brought the pilsner and insisted that it was a stout. Ignorant pompous waiter. Then our sour dough bread sandwich came as focaccia. And my thanksgiving dinner was served with dry crusty turkey.
Not coming back. -

New York, NYI had the grilled Catfish Po' Boy sandwich and my friend had the fish tacos. Both of us enjoyed the really delicious food and the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant ambiance was cute and fun. I would eat here any time that I wanted really good casual food in the Union Square area. -

Manhattan, NYWhat a cute and fun place! Very affordable and loved taking my NYC visitors there. The food is familiar to everyone no matter where you're from.
Great service too. -

My wife, brother and I came here and have all been here before and I doubt any of us will return. The new motif and food is not as good as the old way.
My wife had the Turkey burger which I also tried. Decent, but needs a condiment to match the flavors in the burger.
My brother had the Thanksgiving Dinner which he said was okay.
I had the fish and chips. Tasteless fish which was soggy. I really should have sent it back, but after the table next to me sent food back I had a vision of all the shows and Youtube clips I have seen about food being messed with and it made me decide to stick with the flavorless mushy fish and over fried no flavor fries. Overly crunchy fires with no seasoning. Not worth $17.
The soda was warm and flat. Service was okay at best. We were sitting with the check with the cash waiting for change for over 10 minutes.
I know the concept of fresh and local is big now, but I don't think it was broken and needed to be fixed.
To sum it up $60 for blah food and meh service is not worth it to me.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Queens, NYIndeed, Yelpers are usually right. This place wasn't what I expected it to be and I wish I had tried this place a year ago before it apparently changed chefs. After bookmarking this place for a while, I saw the negative reviews but gave it a chance anyway.
The Blueberry Mint Lemonade was fresh and perhaps the best part of the meal. The famed Mac and Cheese was bland and not really "comfort food." If there were 6 cheeses in there I couldn't really taste it, making me crave S'mac's version instead. The Pulled Pork Sammy special didn't really justify all the pig decor around the place, as it was also bland and lukewarm.
Waitress was nice but overall the meal was not worth the almost $40. -

New York, NYI LOVE this place. When my friend said he was introducing me to a nice place, this was really not what I expected.
Restaurant really looks like a hole in the wall and was located downstairs of the street (not sure I can call it a basement since it really wasn't a basement).
However, contrary to my pre-assumptions, the food turned out to be fantastic and this is what I LOVE about NYC. Best places always turned out to be the cheaper hole-in-the-wall ones. This should have been a gourmet favorite!
Mac 'n cheese = so far this is the best mac 'n' cheese I have eaten. My old Mac 'n cheese place closed down so I'm so glad to have found a replacement. The breadcrumb on top was the best part and the next time I'm there, I'm going to ask for more. This helps add a crunch to each bite. It sounds weird, but you would definitely notice this slight difference once you try it!
Chicken pot pie = was so good. It was packed with flavor and had just enough salt for seasoning. The crust was also baked to perfection, flaky and crispy to the bite. They also did not go cheap on the chicken, there was enough for each bite. And...this was huge! This was big enough for 2 people to share.
Customer Service here is also fantastic. Waitress was friendly, nice, and extremely easy-going. The waiters actually was singing to the background music for a short period. That's how cheerful and easy-going this place is.
Fantastic place. I already told my mac 'n cheese loving friends about it and they have already expressed interest in trying it out. -

Wallingford Center, CTI have nothing bad to say about this place; some of the best brunch I've ever had.
My disclaimer is that I was rather hung over when I had brunch here. But that will likely make this a more accurate review as far as assessment of quality of foodage.
I had a mimosa (hair of the dog) and ordered the French toast from the regular menu (their specials always change and always look phenom). It was made with challa bread, was nice and moist, covered in fresh fruit and powdered sugar, with syrup on the side. Hit. The friggin. Spot. Seriously.
My friend Hilary got the tuna melt, which I tried and which was delectable. The French fries were an 8 out of 10. The service was an 11 out of 10. The place is adorable inside, not too loud but not so quiet that it's stuffy feeling.
Just an A++. Do go. -

Redondo Beach, CAThis place is really cool. Sweet potato fries were delicious and came out quickly. To drink, try the Bees Knees, a gin cocktail with lemon and honey--delicious. The bartender Kaitlyn serves 'em up strong and fast. Food is also really good. I recommend the veggie burger and the mac 'n cheese. The atmosphere is really homey and rustic and well-lit. Dinner here is like a nice home-cooked kitchen meal at the end of a long day. Wait staff really nice too. Overall great experience. I'll certainly come back.Comment from Jamie M. of Chat 'n Chew 9/13/2013Antal glad to hear you had a great dining experience. We… More » -
Review from Minji K.
Three and a half stars. I liked how spacious it was inside - came on a Thursday and there were plenty of seats (or perhaps that just means that people aren't coming here?) And the staff were all very friendly. The food and drinks were fine but nothing special - my friend and I each got a mint blueberry lemonade, split the mac and cheese appetizer, and I had the crabcake sandwich. The lemonade was refreshing but pricey for a small glass with tons of ice. The mac and cheese was pretty good. As for the crabcake sandwich, it was lacking. The crabcake was too much breadcrumbs/wet ingredients, and not cooked thoroughly, resulting in a bit of a mushy mess.
