Paris Baguette- Midtown East- Korean Pastry Chain

I thought there was something familiar about this place, and that is I have seen the same logo in Korean Town over near Herald Square

Yelp gives very good reviews to original one in Midtown West but has not got to the rest of them yet

In fact, this place must be very new because I found an internet story saying how it was GOING to open ( below)

All depends if it keeps up to the standards of the original place I guess

Paris Baguette to Open a New Location in Midtown East

Thanks to a tip from Lunch’er Jenn, we’ve recently learned that the French-inspired Korean bakery chain, Paris Baguette, is opening its newest location on 52nd Street and Lexington Avenue! The new location is taking over the space formerly occupied by Jean Louis David Salon. Though the bakery has locations in Flushing and Bayside, you may remember Blondie and Brownie‘s favorite sugar rushes and Clay’s favorite savory dishes from the K-Town location that opened in 2010. Looking forward to my personal favorite Feuilletee Chocolate and Sweet Potato Pastries for breakfast!

Blondie and Clay have shown us a bit of the sweet and savory sides of Paris Baguette, but on a day like today it’s all about their frozen treats. Read more »

Paris Baguette Has Just As Many Lunchtime Savories as Sweets

_MG_9630
When I first found out about Paris Baguette, I was a little perplexed. Like many of us, my mind first turned to Vietnamese sandwiches, but when I found out that it was really a Korean chain of French-inspired bakeries specializing in pastries and desserts, I was even more confused.
I’ll go for sweets here and there, but they are rarely a big draw for me, so I didn’t rush to check it out. After reading Blondie’s dessert report, I decided it was worth a second look. What I found when I got there was that the menu was even more diverse than I had expected. What really got my attention was the cross-cultural menu of sandwiches from lobster rolls and cheesesteaks to bulgogi and chicken parm.
See the good, the bad and the just plain different after the jump.

Paris Baguette is the Perfect Spot For an Afternoon Sugar Rush

Triple Cup Cake
During a little wandering around Midtown South recently, I happened upon Paris Baguette in K-Town (on 32nd btw. B’way+5th). Though Clay reported their opening a few weeks ago, this was my first chance to sample some of their desserts (a huge mistake if  you’re a dessert-aholic like myself!) The glass cases inside were filled with little sweet treats, many hybrids of French technique with Korean flavors. Before making my decision, I did make the wise move of surveying all of the options, including those past the whole cake case (don’t worry, I’ll DEFINITELY be back for you my pretties.) That’s where I found this little beauty; fresh whipped cream, fresh berries, alternating layers of cake and vanilla custard, a sweet heavenly treat. Though the price is a little steep at $4.50, it was thoroughly enjoyed and I’ve been contemplating what I’ll be picking up next time which will be very, very soon.

Paris Baguette Opening This Morning in K-Town

_MG_9396 - Version 2
Good news for Korean pastry fans… the location of Paris Baguette on 32nd btw. 5+B’way that we told you about last month is opening today. This will be the first Manhattan location for this huge Korean chain of French-style bakeries (not to be confused with Paris Sandwich, the banh mi shop in Chinatown.)  Anyone else excited about this place? Comments on our last post go back and forth between those who think the place serves up delicious pastries to complaints that it’s over-priced.  Who’s rushing in for some fresh-baked goodness? Let us know how it is in the comments.
