I was invited to this Restaraunt for a date night. The atmosphere was both fun & romantic, being seated on the balcony was quite cozy.

My drink the Hurricane was out of this world not at all watered down huge plus for me and the food was PHENOMENAL!!

I went here for the happy hour and it was ok. The lady friend I managed to meet up and we were wandering in around and doubled back to this place after Yelping happy hour.

There was also a Yelp check-in deal for a free Abita beer. The back beer garden only had the light and the Strawtator. Yikes! No thanks! But it was free, and worth every penny. Don't get the Strawtator folks!

They had $5 hurricanes which my GF decided to try. For a $5 hurricane it was pretty strong. They also had a $5 lobster roll. At first, I thought this is pretty sad and small, especially since we split it, but it's 5 bucks. I shouldn't be expecting a hoagie sized sandwich stuffed with lobster. I could have easily ordered another one if I wanted but we were done. Definitely a return spot for happy hour, especially since we still have another free Abita beer to drink for free.

I cannot begin to express how much I love this place. New Orleans has come up north and it is delicious! The decor in this place is fun and simplistic at the same time. Just went on a Saturday night so they had a dj playing songs that made you boogie in your seat, but not so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. The staff is beyond friendly and personable. I had my birthday dinner there, and our waitress was so accommodating and funny. I felt like inviting her to just hang out with me and my friends for the dinner because she fit in with our group so well. They are all really nice people who work there.

Now on to  food. I've been there several times before and I always find something new and tasty to try. I had the crawfish etouffe this time around and it was incredible. The portion was very generous, so much so that I had to take some home. I also had  their macaroni and was delightfully pleased. My brother had their raging cajun burger and he is a burger snob, so I waited to see what he would have to say. Let's just say he cleaned his entire plate.

You can't find any place like this on this side of the Mason Dixon Line. Spacious  and clean restaurant, fun decor, nice people, tasty food, reasonably prices, $5 Hurricanes , and beads....what more can you ask!!

    UPDATE
Kate found my email in her spam box and invited us back last night. We were happy to give this place another chance because we really like the Hurricanes. They remind me of a Hurricane I had at the Sheraton New Orleans back in 2011. I haven't been able to find the proper balance of juice and alcohol ever since.

Anyway, here is why I have decided to change my rating:

STAFF: Greeters, host, servers and management were welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in. It's clear that great customer service starts from the top. Kate was very nice and checked in on us throughout the night. We chatted frequently with her and the other manager, Al. Al was very friendly and funny. Our waitress Jaclyn, was very attentive and speedy and most importantly, she knew her food and drinks. She shared her wealth of knowledge about bourbon and whiskey with my dinner guests. Chef Kavon came out of the kitchen and brought us a sample of their new appetizers. The hummus dip and spicy potato bites were tasty. The presentation was nice as well. It is clear that they are making great strides to please their customers and continue to keep the place packed.

ATMOSPHERE: We had great seats in a booth near the front. There were fresh flowers on the tables and support staff made sure that all the tables were bussed in a timely manner.  The music was a good mix of top 40 hits.

THE FOOD: All the drinks from the bar were perfectly made. We had the hot wings, spinach dip, hummus, potato bites, shrimp/mango salad,  and jambalaya. My favorite appetizer was the spinach dip. I loved the freshly fried pita chips. The dip was tasty and not too salty. The wings were good, although I prefer mine without the breading. If you like spicy food then I would recommend you ask for extra spice. Jambalaya was yummy as well! If I had to give any feedback it would be to use the fried pita chips that come with the spinach dip with the hummus. I wasn't a fan of the bread that came with the hummus. Overall, we had a great meal and excellent customer service. Bourbon you have redeemed yourself! Thanks for a lovely time!  We look forward to coming back again.

Not bad at all. New Orleans style. Loud music, fast service, pretty good food. At first we really liked the fries, they're different, but after a while they get very salty. Good value for the area.

Wow... Not in a good way.  I ordered the Shrimp po boy with fries and for $15 dollars, not including tax and tip, I got EXACTLY 6 pieces of tiny shrimp in the entire damn sandwich.  3 pieces of soggy shrimp on each side of the 6 inch wannabe sandwich.  Really guys? You aren't even trying to make an effort to make a half decent sandwich.  Google Shrimp po boys and you'll see how its supposed to be done.  6 pieces of shrimp?  Maybe your delivery guy picked off the rest of the shrimp thats supposed to be in the sandwich?  Even Subway gives more meat than you do.  Where's the quality control?  The fries... soggy and decrepit.  If I wanted microwaved food I'd have done it myself.  Thanks.

Yeah I'm pissed.  I walk by your place often and wanted to try your food, but now I'm going to save my poor excuse of a sandwich and return it to you free of charge.

I came here for Saturday night dinner. I got the Acadian Chicken and Chips which was basically fried chicken breast and french fries. The fries were good. But the chicken was a little too hard and dry.  My friend got the Portobello burger and fries. She really liked it.

Their drinks are good but sweet. I got the Sweet Teaon and my friend got the Hurricane. Both drinks were mixed very well.

But I probably wouldn't come here again. It is pretty average.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city! The food is really delicious with decent portions. I also love the $5 Hurricane drinks. They are amazingly tasty girly drinks that are strong but not too strong.

I've tried various appetizers and entrees throughout my several visits here. The alligator blankets are delicious and the first time I had alligator. They have good lunch specials. I'd suggest looking through the yelp photos and the menu and just get what pops out at you. It's likely going to be delicious!

Also.. the upstairs seating on the balcony is so nice on a warm day. You can people watch the street. There are also plenty of seats inside and it's great for large groups and parties.

Good drinks, bourbon naturally, and atmosphere.  Great pre or post drink before dinner on restaurant row!

Bourbon Street Bar and Grille was perfect for an impromptu catch up session, with just enough food and drink options. Of course we could not resist the $5 Hurricanes during the happy hour; they were sweet pretty pink drinks, strong and delicious.

The bbq mussel appetizer, one of the nightly specials, consisted of a bowl of 4 mussels and 2 thick slices of Texas toast. Each plump and meaty mussel was drenched in thick, dark and spicy bbq sauce. I found the bbq to be super spicy, an interesting contrast to the just overcooked mussels, while my counterparts really enjoyed it, wishing there was more bread to lap it up.

I got wings with the honey Bourbon sauce. I was expecting like four wings, instead I got closer to ten. The wings were standard, but I thought the pricing was pretty fair. They were a little dry in terms of sauce, but also sticky and sweet.

The Royale Mac and Cheese was complete with chicken, bacon and white truffle oil. It was ok; the smell of the truffle oil was overwhelming, it was not cheesy underneath the thick top layer of melted cheese, and the bacon and chicken were scant and scattered.

The Cajun Jambalaya was a pretty hefty portion of seasoned rice, crawfish, shrimp, peppers, and sausage. My friend mentioned it was good but it could have been hotter. It looked like there was a generous amount of the various ingredients for a satisfying meal.

The most disappointing part of the meal, was definitely the Hush Puppies (for me at least). I have fond memories of eating hush puppies on family vacations to North Carolina. These were just hard and really dry. No real flavors just a mildly difficult texture. Even the dipping sauces did not help them go down easier.

Now the food was really just ok--the menu was big but also a little pricey considering some of the options. The service in some areas was really lacking. The experience started off strong with a couple of engaging chats with the attentive assistant manager and a nice waitress, but it all fell apart at the end. Nothing took too long until our bellies were full and our drinks were on empty. Getting the waitress's attention and the check took forever. We didn't pay until half an hour after we decided we were ready to go.  When the assistant manager came by to talk to us on our way out, I told him about how we were disappointed in our wait for the bill. He expressed his apologies and took note. I  appreciated that and because of his genuine concern for our experience, I would deffo come back for a random happy hour.

Not a bad choice. I went here with some co-workers for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised. If you go upstairs there's a nice little roof deck with a full bar and tables. Since we went on a Friday all of the tables were reserved before we arrived.

Happy hour deals are good ($4.00 Stella's, $3.00 Coors). The $5.00 hurricanes did not look appetizing. I had the sliders (potato buns!) and tried the fried pickles. The pickles were whole, I like the chip form better, but good nonetheless.

I went to check in on Foursquare to see if there were any deals or anything, there were, but didn't apply to Friday happy hour or Saturday. I think its good all other days.

Overall, not bad. I'd go back.
