Goes over big with that audience ( usual complaint or two)--especially the drag floor show
I think one woman is putting us on here saying "everything was great here except waiters and service"--(and I noticed another review like that, too)

Brooklyn, NYI'm not gay. I don't even really like overly gay people but this was GOODSHOW!! the food was ehhh ok, not great but not horrible and ok priced. The appetizer wings were slap ya momma good though lol
I would definitely go back again and I recommend it as something different and fun to do! -

New York, NYInteresting plan for a night out in New York City, to laugh and have fun. I would never eat here or get a table. The bar tender was rude when i was paying for the worst vodka in town, because i was gonna give him the bill between a couple that were eating at the bar counter. And she also tells me: "Please, they are eating". Lips is a restaurant, not a bar, because if the bartender yells at you when you are passing a bill in the bar for one vodka...
I would give more stars but the bartender attitude killed the charm.
I didn't like this place at all to be honest, funny to see drags and jokes half an hour, full of hen tables. Not for dinner or for drinking. I'm sure ill find much better drag shows in NYC. -

Franklin Park, NJHad my birthday here with about 15 friends. I had a great time! Our waitress Melinda made it a night to remember. Her Rihanna close out performance made the show. She was FABULOOOOSSSSSSS! Loved the fact that they called you up on the stage if you are celebrating! Plus you get a picture with your favorite queen.Food, drinks and show were good. My only complaint is that wish the show was longer. I heard they have Sunday brunch with a performance. I will definitely go back for the brunch. -

Brooklyn, NYGreat food and great service plus a great show. Brought my brother here for his birthday brunch and we were so pleased with everything. Beautiful women and unlimited mimosas. What else could you ask for!? -

New York, NYWent here for a friend's party. At first I thought it was a bit strange that she wanted to see a drag show, but if was actually really fun. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, the performers and the audience. $15 min on food and drinks will set you back about $10 and there's also a $10 cover charge. So hard to get out of there without spending $50. Don't think I'll be back, but it was a fun once in a life time New York experience. -

Brooklyn, NYOne of the best times I've had in a long time. I wanted to take my aunt out for her birthday and this place was a perfect place. The waitress worked the room alone, BlackIe O was an amazing host and let's not forget chandelier the bartender. My aunt had an amazing time we are planning to return one weekend. This was the ultimate dinner and show. -

Manhattan, NYThe food is awful. The queens are trashy. The bathroom smells like poppers. I had an amazing time! Definitely will return! Be sure to not order the food or drinks! Xoxoxo -

Manhattan, NY3.5 Stars
What better way to spend a Sunday evening than watching sassy diva drag queens lip sync, dance, and do celebrity impersonations of famous pop stars. There were performances by "Whitney Houston, Kesha, Nicki Minaj, Gloria Estefan and Mary J. Blige" doing shorts of their popular songs.
My favorite was watching the 6ft.+ tall bartender "Chandelier" performing as "Cher." I think she makes an awesome, humongous drag queen!
This place seems popular for birthday and bachelorette celebrations. The queens double as both entertainers, and waitresses.
I came with good company so I had a fun time!!
The food really isn't very good, but this was a lively, unique experience.
At the end of the night, my only question is, where do they put their junk?! -

Had a fun time Friday night at Lips for the first stop of a fun bachelorette party night out with the girls! This was actually my 2nd time coming to Lips, but my first visit was about 4 years ago when they were in their original West Village location! All that has changed is the venue upgrade to the (lower) Upper East Side but you still get the fun, lively and interactive entertainment and all the attitude that one can expect from the best Queens in NYC! The food is not as bad as some on this site might lead you to believe - trust me, I wouldn't lie to you. However, I had the Chicken Penne Vodka and it is pretty hard to get that wrong. I also sampled a few buffalo wings and I'm a sucker for hot sauce so I gotta say they were A-ok! The drinks were all definitely on the sweeter side but not badly priced considering (most cocktails were in the $12 range).
If you are on a budget or want to simplify planning for a group, they do offer a 3 course prix-fixe menu if everyone at the table participates, which include a platter of most their apps, 1 choice of entrée from an extensive list, and finally another platter of mini-cannolis and red velvet cupcakes. My small group did not opt for this, but I thought it great for you to know. (You're Welcome :)
The show lasts about an hour depending on how many birthday girls (or guys) and bachelorettes are in the audience. Everyone who is celebrating something is given a crown to wear for the night and brought up on stage for a picture and a little bit of fun banter with the host! $12 per person for the show by the way and a $15 food minimum per person, but in all honesty, it's priceless fun and a great way to kick off bachelorette festivities! -

This was SO much fun.
Called last minute to get reservations and happened to have a spot left for two for the midnight "dirty" show. We feared that we would get stuck with crappy seating, but ended up getting a two-top right next to the stage. Score!
Drinks run about $10/pop and the food isn't the greatest, but who cares! If you come to this for the food then you are an idiot. Spend your $15/person minimum on drinks if you are the type to complain about the food at a place where the food isn't meant to be the highlight of your night. Arrive 30 min early and grab a seat at the bar while you wait for your name to be called for seating. In that 30 min time period, we finished off about 3 drinks each and engaged in some crazy conversation with the funny and fabulous bartenders.
Our waitress was absolutely hilarious and even took a picture with us at the end of the night. The show was a complete riot and we had an absolute BLAST. I would definitely do this again the next time I am in town! -

Austin, TX5 stars for the show! Ask about the drink specials, we had $5 frozen cosmos (or something like that) The food was nothing special, but not terrible and good portions (we had the fixed menu...)
The waiter actually knocked a drink INTO our friends lap....red drink onto white pants. He rolled his eyes and left. (It was NOT one of the performers, their disses were actually funny) He even or apologize OR replace the drink. She didn't get upset or cause a scene about it so maybe if she would have brought it to someone's attention things would have gone differently.
Anyway, the ladies are talented and put an quite a show. One of my most memorable experiences in New York. -

Oh I weep with joy. I love a good drag show.
I arranged a reservation for 7 at the 9:30 pm show, where they told us we'd need to order the prix fixe dinner because it was 'prime seating.' While it made me skeptical (really, how good could the food be at a drag show), I confirmed the reservation because it was part of my sister's bachelorette party.
For $30 plus $12 admission cost we got appetizer platters (fried stuff really) an entree apiece (one of my sisters got the lobster ravioli which was surprisingly not bad! Frozen, I'd imagine) and dessert platters of mini cannoli and red velvet cupcakes. Drinks and shots were $10 apiece, which is to be expected.
The show was just glorious - and the emphasis on the bachelorettes and birthday gals in the room was perfect. The performers (who were our waitresses as well) lip synced and danced their way through everything from It's Rainin' Men (obviously) to Nikki Minaj, Katie Perry and all those popstars we just love to hate on.
The interior of Lips is gaudy and bawdy and just plain fabulous. Glitter, chandeliers, sequins, exactly what you'd imagine. You can hear waitresses sassily scoffing "shut up, you dumb bitch" to patrons at nearly every table.
I've heard their mimosa brunch is also pretty spectacular! Well done, ladies. -

Germantown, MDThe show was fan-F**KING-tastic!! These ladies know how to put on a show! The food is very good as well, there is a very big selection on the menu. If you have the time, please go pay these lovely ladies a visit! -

Bronx, NYCame here for my boss's birthday and everything was great except for the waiters and the service -
Review from Liz G.
I decide to take my best friend here for her bacholerette brunch, she totally loved it.
The brunch was18.95 with unlimited mimosa's for an additional $6.00. If you are hungry i suggest you eat the chicken sandwich or burger. I had the steak and eggs and was still hungry afterwards :( . The food was so/so but you cant complain when you are also getting a great show out of it.
The bartender chandelier was rude, I'm not sure if she was being "in character." But the sass and attitude is not necessary when people are being nice to you!!!!!
