Escaping Time Exhibit
Ongoing until September 25th

Experience a different view of a life behind bars. Escaping Time features over 200 pieces of art created within prison walls nationwide.  Inmates improvise with materials such as bed sheets, coffee and toothpaste, seeking to escape the time and walls they are confined to. The exhibit is located in House #6A in Nolan Park. More info.

Did you know there's a farm on Governors Island?

GrowNYC and Earth Matter run farming and composting operations on the Island. Together they teach how to grow and eat healthy food in an urban environment, and how to reduce waste by returning organic matter to the landscape. Each weekend the urban farm offers a host of activities, including time to meet the Island’s resident goats and chickens! Click here to find out more.
