The Hills Have Arrived!

This week was exciting as The Hills opened on July 19th for the first time to the public! Visitors got a chance to experience our four hills and see NYC like never before. During our Sunrise to Sunset event, visitors watched the day begin and end on top of The Hills - check out the photos on our Instagram and search for #HillsGI!

Don't forget to send your views from up on The Hills! Post a photo on Instagram, use the hashtag #HillsGI, and tag us with @governorsisland. One lucky contestant will win a private morning tour of the Hills, and four runners up will receive Governors Island Map Tote bags. City Council Proclamation

On July 14th, City Council Member Margaret S. Chin and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito presented a proclamation to Governors Island Trust President and CEO Leslie Koch for leading the transformation of what was once an overlooked and largely abandoned island into a premier destination for New Yorkers and visitors alike. READ MORE

Dysfunctional Collective
Sat. & Sun. at 12:30pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm

The Dysfunctional Collective turns House 8B in Nolan Park into a grab box of art, poetry, dance, theater and song. Each week new works will be offered. Stop by weekends between 12-5pm to see photos and artwork from local artists. Have your picture snapped, hear a song, see a short play and explore the house. LEARN MORE.

How about lending us a hand? Governors Island is looking for outgoing, enthusiastic, and energetic individuals to join our Horticultural and Island Ambassadors Team this summer!
