Four Georgia Firefighters Charged With Theft From Accident Scene

Four Georgia firefighters from two different departments are facing larceny charges following their response to a motor vehicle accident last weekend. The accident occurred last Saturday, February 20, 2016 on I-20. The scene borders Columbia and Richmond Counties and as a result numerous agencies responded to the scene.
Two Augusta, Georgia firefighters, Sergeant Antoine Mullins and Wesley Hughes, and two Columbia County firefighters, Lt. Christopher D. Ganther and firefighter Randall K. Atchison have been charged with larceny. Ganther and Atchison have also reportedly been fired.
Two Columbia County deputies, Sergeant Mark G. Smith and Deputy Wesley G. Harden, have also been charged. The items taken from the accident scene were cellphone covers, Bluetooth headsets, and cellphone chargers.
