Karrie Sancan Love your work so much really reaches out to me
Sometimes I just can’t make sense of the things I see. A boy doing CPR on his father after finding him hanging in the garage, a drug addict getting mad after saving his life because we ruined his high, a drunk driver who kills his girlfriend in a car accident while he walks away without a scratch or just the random bad luck that results in the death of an entire family.
I created this image after being called to a car accident where a little girl and her family were killed. ...

Mike Taggart Seeing this one opened up some intense emotions for me. Coming across an accident on Christmas Eve while on another call with a patient on board. It was a t-bone collision with a young lady in a car full of wrapped presents and some stuffed animals and...See More
Audrey Sue Dugan I can't imagine seeing the things you do......I often wonder if the responders to my 17 year old granddaughters (fatal) accident said goodbye to her for me....I like to imagine someone touched her gently and said" fly to heaven in peace..". thank you thank you thank you for your service!
Kayleen Purser I have assisted to wash and clean up several deceased patients so they are " ready for the family to see" ... I always take a quiet moment to hold their ( the deceased) hand and say a shorter version of " the Lord's Prayer " regardless of " their relig...See More

This is the very first image I ever created. It's based on a call I attended where a young man in his early 20s died while we were trying to save him, I remember him calling for his Mother as he died. When I finished this piece I kept it for awhile and wasn't going to share it, I was scared what my fellow medics and EMTs would think if I showed any vulnerability in our profession. The stigma is still very much there, things are a little better but I'm sure there's many of us on the edge, screaming on the inside while faking it to everyone around us. Get help, those feelings aren't going away. Purge them before they purge you. Stay safe everyone and take care of each other.
