Apparently Firefighters in Dubai do not play.
Also glad his aim wasn't any worse.

Here's a great animal rescue story for the day...

Bangor Firefighter Chandler Corriveau was among Bangor's Engine One crew who went into the building filled with smoke. "It was too smoky to see what the dog looked like, but we could hear it whimpering. Figured it was still alive."

If you see a Firefighter, please smile, wave and even best... thank them for what they do.
Simple, sincere and grateful words is one of our best rewards.

Leave a comment.... We'd love to learn how.

!['"I walk a line, a thin red line that few will ever understand.
It's a thin line filled with blood, sweat, heartache, pain and lots of tears.
It can be rewarding, and it can also be sadly tragic.
I walk a line where brothers and sisters stand side-by-side, arms reached over each other’s shoulders confidently assured that it’s our meaningful bond that holds this line.
That thin line can be damaged, bent, scratched, taken for granted and even forgotten about.
But that line, that thin red line is always there and will always and forever prevail.
Although it can sometimes be burnt, it will never be tore down or completely destroyed… neither by man nor nature.
It’s a thin red line that burns deep within the hearts of young and old firefighters and at some point has affected everyone’s life.
Not many will ever truly understand this line.
Few have ever walked it. Most never will.
So until you have walked a mile on that line, please empathize and don't criticize.
We walk on a line, a thin line… a thin red line."

!['In the firehouse sometimes we are as serious about our food as we are our jobs.
Living and sleeping in the same quarters, and the grind of the 24 / 48 hour shifts our culture of sharing meals together feeds the soul... as much as the belly.
* What's one of your favorite Firehouse Meals?
* Do you think we should do a "Brotherhood of Fire" Recipe / Cookbook?

!['A local area newspaper of CAL FIRE Firefighter Aaron Williams recently published an article about excessive pay earned by local Firefighters.
Although Aaron doesn’t work for the department the paper was criticizing, he felt compelled to stand in solidarity with his Brothers and release some very personal… and sobering photos.
After viewing these photos Aaron wants to know…
Question: Do you still think firefighters make too much money?
Do you believe Firefighters deserve a stable pension… and God-willing a healthy retirement?
Aaron reached out to “Brotherhood of Fire” and wants to share this message to the world:
On April 8th, 2015 while making an interior fire attack, advancing to the kitchen fire, the living room he was in flashed over.
Aaron was in the “thick of it” for about 30 seconds before his partner fortunately saw his shadow near the entrance and was able to pull him out.
All this happened about a week and a half after Fresno, CA Fire Captain Pete Dern was critically burned falling into a garage fire.
Coincidentally the night Aaron was hurt, Fresno Fire had just come out with a preliminary report on what happened at the Cortland Incident.
Aaron had printed the report out around 7pm and was planning to go over it with his crew the next morning… about two hours after printing the report, Firefighter Aaron Williams was being airlifted in critical condition to UC Davis.
Aaron spent the next 18 days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Not once, not one single time did Aaron ever complain… or ever giving into a thought about “giving up”.
He knew Captain Pete Dern was hurting far worse than him. He knew Pete was fighting for his life and therefore that gave him no reason, no excuse to ever, ever throw in the towel.
Aaron said that through all of it Pete Dern has “been there”… in spirit with him, every day.
While in the hospital healing and rehabbing Aaron was able to gather his strength and push through, every time, because of Pete.
He wanted to be #DernStrong
Besides the physical scars Aaron has, he also wants to share that he struggles with PTSD.
He believes most everyone on the job has it to one degree or other, but it generally goes undiagnosed because there’s no outward physical sign of it.
Aaron feels “blessed” with having physical scars now to show.
WHY is he BLESSED?
Because he wants everyone to see him, his scars and wounds and help bring awareness to all the dangers, all the sacrifices firefighters make… to do the jobs we do.
He wants to take something, a very bad incident that happened to him… and turn it into something good.
He wants to represent all firefighters who struggle with a fire-related injury or illness.
He wants to be #DernStrong

Brother, you DEFINE #DernStrong
Godspeed healing and recovery.
Thank you for making the #BrotherhoodStrong as well

!['19 years ago today...
On February 6, 1997, the Stockton Fire Department suffered a tragic loss as two firefighters, Brett Alan Laws and Bryan Jacob Golden who gave their lives trying to save the life of an elderly resident who was trapped in her two-story home.
The Fallen Firefighters Memorial is a tribute to these heroic firefighters as well as all of Stockton's firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This beautiful life-size monument was dedicated on October 11, 1998 and is located at McLeod Lake in downtown Stockton.
The monument was designed and sculpted by artist, Betty Saletta.
Around the base of the monument are the names of the thirteen firefighters who gave their lives in the line of duty during the history of the Stockton Fire Department.
