MY VIDEO: Central Park South and Feeding Ducks
Holden Caulfield, the hero of J.D. Salinger's famous book, "The Catcher in the Rye," is known for his oft-quoted remark "Where do the Central Park Ducks go in winter?"
Many years ago I first checked this out. It was maybe sort of a literal minded response ( I think Salinger meant to be kind of mystical or Zen like with his question), but then Salinger is a poet and I have more the mind of a Fire Marshal.
What happens is that many of the ducks leave but a large number stay and are fed daily, in the worst weather, by tourists and local residents.
