This year is a very special year for us as we mark our 150th anniversary. Celebrations kicked off in style when we took part in London's annual New Year's Day Parade. Staff past and present were joined by our fire cadets as they walked the route alongside fire engines old and new. Throughout this year we will be marking our century and a half of service to the capital with a number of special events which the public can attend. Keep an eye on our website to see what's coming up in your area http://www.london-fire.gov.uk/150-events.asp

Firefighters and Fire cadets brought some Christmas cheer and presents to sick children stuck in London's hospitals over the festive period. Thank you to everyone who donated gifts and money. It was lovely to see so many smiles.

Ricky Borg I was lucky enough to be there that day and can confirm it was a pretty amazing cake!!! (And whoever took the picture must be really really good!)
We wish brave Molly a very happy new year. Firefighters praised her courage she showed at a serious road traffic collision in July. Crew Manager Lee Davis and Firefighter Ray Lothian stayed with Molly throughout the 75 minute rescue and visited her earlier this year and thankfully she is on the mend http://bit.ly/1Vs8WK1
