Nigro presided over a ceremony in Brooklyn promoting 62 FDNY officers. “With more 1,300 years of experience, this group of new Chiefs, Fire Marshals and Marine Firefighters have bravely battled fires, saved lives and performed heroic acts throughout their careers,” said Commissioner Nigro. “In their new roles, they will demonstrate the strong leadership that has been a hallmark of the FDNY for the past 150 years.” View more photos from today’s ceremony at http://ow.ly/WtlkV [Flickr]

Jeff Stevens The ceramic heaters are actually the safest space heaters made, not the oil filled type. The Lasko space heaters are the most economical.
Michael Zobl
Michael Zobl Thats correct! Extension cords have an internal resistance and a higher voltage drop means that the cord can be also caught into fire! If you use an extension cord, please make sure the wire gauge must be greater than AWG 16 because at 115 Volts they can have more than 10 or 12 Amps! Have a great new year and greetings from Austria! wink emoticon
