Another great column from Sean Eddy from Medic Madness. #7. The Historian: This is the supervisor who always reverts back to “how we’ve always done it.” They used to respond to calls on foot, in the snow, uphill both ways. All of their patients received high-flow oxygen, spine boards, Lasix, traction splints, rotating tourniquets, and bloodletting. And by God, it worked. Any argument to the contrary is invalid because they’ve been doing this longer than you.
Why did the sloth cross the road? He didn't, he only made it half way. Officials came to his rescue.

Product Spotlight: EMS practitioners are 2 ½ times more likely to die on the job and 3 times more likely than the average worker to miss work as a result of injury. To combat this epidemic, the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians created the EMS Safety course to promote a culture of safety and to help reduce the number of on-the-job fatalities and injuries.
This photo from the CFA (Country Fire Authority) in Australia has gone viral after the agency shared it as one of the "many faces of CFA in 2016." In 2012, EMS World featured an article on tips for effective breastfeeding while working shifts in EMS. Check that out here: www.emsworld.com/10669759.
