Pope Francis will be receiving President Mauricio Macri on February 27, the first official meeting between both leaders since Macri took office in December. The first time the pontiff meet with Macri was in 2013 when he was the Buenos Aires City mayor.
Minister of Interior, Public Works and Housing Rogelio Frigerio said “more resources must be transferred to provices” as well as “more responsibilities” as he addressed reporters following a meeting with Peronist governors at the Pink House in which provincial leaders questioned the government's handling of revenue-sharing system.

Salta province Governor Juan Manuel Urtubey said Peronist leaders demanded the government to “acknowledge the revenue-sharing scheme set by the Justice” duing the meeting they held with Interior Minister Rogelio Frigerio at the Pink House. 
Prosecutor Liliana Fernández de Montiel, in charge of the investigation into Milagro Sala’s detention case, rejected a prison release appeal filed by the defence of the social leader who was arrested more than a week ago in the province of Jujuy.

The federal government has approved power tariff hikes that will come into effect next month while setting a social price for clients on a tight budget. The adjustment in the power tariff scheme, the resolution says, comes “facing the discrepancy between real costs and current prices, and considering the payment possibilities of consumers and the convenience to prevent a negative impact in the national economy."

The US dollar climbed two cents to close at 14.15 pesos in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices. In the informal market, the so called “blue” dollar backtracked 8 cents to 14.29 pesos, with the gap between the official and the parallel rates reaching 1 percent, ámbito.com reported.
The government has issued a new decree setting cash advances for the provinces of Córdoba, Jujuy, Mendoza, Chubut, Santa Fe, Neuquén and Entre Ríos arguing the funds will allow these districts to “attend most urgent commitments that result from their spending budget and debt repayments.”

Health authorities confirmed the first Zika case in the country. It is a Colombian woman who got the virus in her country and then came to the City of Buenos Aires where she lives. Member of the Zika and Dengue Crisis Committee Doctor Eduardo López told docsalud.comthat the 23-year-old patient underwent some medical tests due to the fever she had in Colombia and she got positive on Zika virus.
