2016 is starting out to be a busy year for my fire department, Fresno Fire, CA ... 17 days into the new year and we've had 22 working structure fires, including several multi-alarms.
Here is a recent news story about a family (including a baby) that some of my fellow firefighters help save from a 2 story apartment on fire... the fire started in the stairwell and blocked their egress...
The job of a firefighter is one of the toughest jobs on the planet... between the things we are exposed to and all the other things trying to actively kill us, at one point or another it makes all of us wonder "Is this job worth it?"
