Umm they intended to/ and succeeded to kill as many americans as they could, and then kill 1st responders with explosives. How ever the bomb failed.

Bridgeport officer who reported racist letter was one who wrote it - LEO Affairs
Clive Higgins, 50, of Naugatuck, surrendered to the state police in Bethany. He was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
