The meeting we could not comment much on has ended. The meeting took place with 4 members of our group and Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell. We can state that each committee (4) and now the senate majority leader have committed to a permanent health bill. We can not get an agreement on paying for the health portion of the bill. There seems to be agreement on the compensation portion. Calls to senator McConnell's office can be halted for now as we have his commitment. Though we are stating to hold further calls as of now, please understand that we may need your help in the very near future.

The New York City Firefighter Brotherhood Foundation If you feel your call will help, then by all means continue. We on the other hand don't want to burn out our friends and will call on them again when necessary.

Roy Cotignola I'm failing to understand exactly why we can't get an agreement paying for the health portion. Please inform me if this is incorrect. The compensation portion would be a monetary award?

While we know our friends have contacted Mitch McConnell's office, we ask that contact be continued tomorrow but that contact remain respectful.
We are working a few angles that can not be commented on yet, but we will advise you of any progress by around 11 am tomorrow.
The requested continued contact to his office is important in our cause as is our ability to ask it to be stopped if progress is made.

Off to meet with Chairperson Fred Upton (Michigan) to see if he will issue a statement saying his committee (House Energy and Commerce) supports a permanent and fully funded reauthorization of Zadroga.
As far as Mitch McConnell, we took in 2 meetings today.
The first meeting was with a large group and there was a bit lost in translation.
The second meeting was only 4 of us and it was at this meeting we requested a one on one with the Senator.
We do not yet know if our request will be granted.

Donna Vittoria Aurnhammer I have tried to call McConnell dozens of times today. I was not even able to leave a voice mail. The message was high level of calls, unable to take calls.
Please keep the calls coming to Sen. McConnell. We are going to his office this very second. He's partisan to a non-partisan bill.
His actions are unacceptable
