Gary talks about the heart wrenching series of wakes and funerals that followed Sept 11, (where 342 FDNY members died among the thousands of innocent victims from all over the World who were in the Twin Towers that day)...and the emotional toll it took..

It also shows the stamina of an extremely intelligent and resolute NYC Firefighter who had already been facing innumerable tragedies and travails on the job for many  years...

Above: At the NYC Fire Museum, Lt Gary Howard works as a Volunteer showing both Fire Prevention, especially to schoolchildren, and also the History of the FDNY

What is amazing is how Gary can reminisce about all his experiences and still retain his remarkable , earthy sense of humor...

You have to see how he explains some of what he went through and how he handled it
