Watch Some Brave Polar Bears Take a Dip in Vancouver
In honour of Throwback Thursday, we present to you a vintage video of the annual Vancouver Polar Bear Swim at English Bay. While these brave souls run fearlessly into the chilly Pacific ocean for a mid-winter swim, we were intrigued to discover that women outnumbered the men. The Polar Bear Swim Club is one of the largest and oldest traditions in the world. As of 2014, the official entries reached a new record of 2,550 people.

Here's What a Million Dollar Park Looks Like Over in Richmond
Landscape architect, Hapa Collaborative, has built a $1 millionplayground over in Richmond called the Terra Nova Rural Park. This park is not your standard bright yellow and royal blue metal neighbourhood park kids are used to seeing. Composed primarily of wood and metal, the park "represents a myriad of landscape types: intertidal foreshore, dykes, remnant sloughs, and past and present agricultural use," says Hapa. Students and advisors were even consulted to help with the design and site analysis process. Admit it, the big kid inside of you wants to go check it out.
