Gene Mikhov Amazing. We have some amazing Police Officers and I don't think anyone ever denied it but we have some that don't deserve to wear a uniform and it all starts from leadership. Love and understanding is the answer

The greatest police department in the greatest city in the world.
Don't forget to check us out on Instagram, @NYPD, for more great photos. This one was taken by Lieutenant White in our Highway Unit.

Lawrence Kreger In addition, I am tired of how underpaid EMS workers are ...The NYPD will get more eventually, they have the clout.
Lawrence Kreger I have lived in NYC since 1963 and I am tired of hearing how everything here is "The Greatest." The RENT BILLS are THE BIGGEST, now, ( San Francisco giving us a run for our money). No that I don't feel the NYPD and FDNY and Paramedics/EMT's here ARE great, don't get me wrong, I am just tired of Grandiosity about it. Let Donald Trump be the greatest or something ( he would be the first to agree with that).
The New York City Transit System has HOW MANY crimes?!?
Last year, the system saw 2,233 major crimes. This year, through November 1st, there have been 2,004. And that sounds like a lot. But here’s a little context…

Mad No Politics Orio Don't take your transit cops for granted NY. I work in transit in Tampa, and if anyone wants to evade police, they know our buses are the LAST place they'd be found.
Raphe JC How many BS crimes did you shakedown & beat the citizens over? Never mind the bag searches which step on the Constitution which you swear to uphold and protect.
Probationary NYPD Officer Helps Veteran Cops Save A Distraught Woman
Probationary officer Bory Echanique, riding along with veteran officers Miguel Lajara and Santo Villar as a part of his field training, learned firsthand that a day on patrol is never routine. The officers were traveling along Westchester Avenue in the 43rd Precinct at approximately 1:48 p.m. when they were flagged down by several individuals who pointed to a 46-year-old woman climbing a fence along an overpass located above the Bronx River Parkway. The officers quickly ran to the woman who had made her way to the top of the fence.

Sam Meyers Another day in the life of a police officer. All of the good things they do day in and day out go unnoticed and unreported by mainstream media because it won't get the viewership. Cops around the world do so much good for people that goes unnoticed. Great job to these officers, and best of luck to Probationary Officer Echanique! #ThinBlueLine #BackTheBlue
Anthony Torres I wonder if that woman thinks these Officers are worth 1%, after saving her life??
Cancer-Stricken Man From Wisconsin Gets Help From NYPD Captain
Diana and Roger Higgenbottom came to Times Square last New Year's Eve in hopes of scratching off a bucket list item for Roger who was diagnosed with cancer: watch the ball drop at the stroke of midnight.
Just minutes before midnight, the couple roused themselves, put on their coats and “Happy New Year” hats and labored out into the crowds near the 42nd St. subway station to stake out a spot.

Diana Anderson Higgenbottom I am so honored and humbled by all the comments! I knew since January 1st the story needed to be told...last Friday the timing was perfect to celebrate not only Capt Altaheri's NYPD promotion, but what he did for my husband, for he doesnt just represent NYPD, he represents America!!! You just can't make these "life moments" up!! NYPD is the truest of the "blue" !!!!
Trick Or Treat! Halloween Public Drinking Stop Leads To Submachine Gun
Officers on Staten Island arrested a man in possession of two machine guns after observing the suspect drinking alcohol in public on Halloween. Police Officers Golat and Barreiro of the 121 Precinct’s Anti-Crime Team observed a man drinking alcoholic in public on Harrison Avenue in Staten Island early Saturday morning. As the officers approached the suspect they observed him throw a bag into the grass near the location. At this time, the suspect fled on foot and the officers opened the bag and recovered an Intratec Model AB-10 submachine gun and a Calico Model M-9 submachine gun.

Francisco Antonio 🏽🏽🏽 some people may say
"It's just a gun big deal" but in reality these officers prevented a murder of a civilian or another officer. Because 💯% these guns were not going to be used by the perps in benefit of society
Nick Genchi Wait I thought guns were banned? How could the perp get his hands on these! *internet sarcasm*
