Video: Man goes for officer’s gun, when unsuccessful, tries for ‘suicide by cop’
As an officer with the Butler City PD was checking out at a local gas station last week, a man walked in, approached the officer from behind and attempted to take her gun. The officer was able to maintain control of her weapon, fend the attacker off, and keep 36-year-old Matthew Fleeger in the store until backup arrived.
According to 11 News, it took 5 officers to finally subdue and arrest Fleeger after attempts to taser him failed due to his thick coat.

Butler PD stated that they believe Fleeger was attempting to get the officer to kill him, and he did everything he could to get that result, often called “suicide by cop.”
Butler Citpy Police Captain Dave Dalcamo said of the officer involved, “we’re proud of her, she did a great job. We’re glad she’s ok.”
