Staff Update: Welcome, Emilio Gomez!

We are excited to have Emilio Gomez on board! Emilio joined our staff in October and will work with the rest of our outreach team in visiting FDNY firehouses around New York to let firefighters know about the free counseling and wellness services we offer to them and their families.

Emilio joined the US Navy as an aircraft mechanic in 2002.
Emilio Gomez smallHe served for 9 years (including as a firefighter for 2 years on board his carrier and 1 on shore duty) and received an honorable discharge in 2011. After the military Emilio furthered his education by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in International Business, which led him to work with the Veterans Affairs as an outreach specialist for the SSVF program to help homeless veterans. This job inspired him to continue serving and he now joins us as a fellow through Mission Continues.

Welcome, Emilio!
