AUSTIN, Texas (November 3, 2015) – Texas-based EMS software company MedaPoint, Inc. today announces the release of their fully-hosted, cloud-based mobile ePCR (electronic patient care report) solution, AdvanceCare. The new ePCR works as a standalone solution, or it can integrate with MedaPoint’s AdvanceDispatchTM and AdvanceClaimTM applications, as well as with third-party dispatch and billing systems, to facilitate the management of the complete patient-care cycle.
“The cloud-based, mobile system provides EMS crews with the best of both worlds,” said MedaPoint’s chief executive officer, John Dadey. “We've consistently been a leader in hosted, Web-based applications, and it was critical to develop a mobile component to ensure that we stay on the cutting edge of mobile integrated healthcare initiatives. Our new mobile ePCR platform will allow crews to capture data offline on any Android, iOS, or Windows 10 mobile unit, and to access it later from a browser-enabled device, providing anytime, anywhere access.”
AdvanceCare Product Director Billy Craft pointed out that the mobile ePCR will automate workflows and simplify the care documentation process. “We built AdvanceCare using the best available technology with a NEMSIS 3 backbone to create the most intuitive experience possible for users of an EMS documentation system,” Craft said.
The AdvanceCare ePCR was designed to make operational workflow easier for field medics. The simple interface allows for quick data capture in both real-time and post-event documentation efforts. Intelligent data mapping eliminates redundant fields, while data-capture mechanisms minimize steps. MedaPoint's expertise in EMS billing software has given AdvanceCare some key features not typically associated with an ePCR which create a record designed for immediate claims submission. In addition, data can be exported from the ePCR platform via NEMSIS 3 export for claims processing and state data reporting, as well as interface with other health data systems.
The software as a service (SaaS) platform is scalable and able to be integrated with other SaaS offerings, as well as with traditional platforms. “MedaPoint has the technical expertise to handle integrations with third-party CAD or billing software systems," said Craft. “We have also created seamless integrations with partner technologies, such as EMS Toolkit, to enhance the AdvanceCare customer experience.”
Healthcare data integration functions are intended to drive efficiency in patient management and improve clinical decision making. Through two-way data sharing, AdvanceCare can share information with other healthcare platforms, such as hospital EMRs (electronic medical records), to make key patient data more accessible to EMS crews. Secure mobile search features provide crews with the ability to recall historical patient data in real time.
As a cloud-based system, AdvanceCare ePCR is available on a pay-per-record basis, upgrades and ongoing HIPAA, ICD-10 and HITECH compliance are automated, and required training is minimal. MedaPoint partners with Azure, Microsoft’s integrated cloud system, to ensure patient privacy and enterprise-level security. More than 57 percent of Fortune 500 companies rely on Azure, which offers HIPAA compliance and round-the-clock system health monitoring.
