We interviewed Chief Kelley back in January after he went on a hunger strike to raise money for a new firehouse. Glad everyone got out safely. Homes can be replaced, families cannot.
Chief Kirk Kelley, his wife, their two children, ages 2 and 4, and the family dog escaped unharmed.

The deputy district fire chief who was on duty while on the show retired before he could be disciplined; the firefighter who was on medical leave was fired.
Firefighters and medics also brought their department-issued gear to work on the show, an apparent violation of department rules.

Iuzuny Garcia This show is a joke. My favorite line "how long have you been a firefighter?" "Since I was born." Hahaha! The only other scene that could beat this, was when an old man got his leg trapped by a piece of debris during a building collapse, and one of the guys calls for a k12 to do a field amputation. Priceless.

Listen to the chilling mayday call audio here:
The firefighters were searching for a resident who was reportedly trapped; they suffered second-degree burns to their lower extremities.

This audio will be broken down, studied and used to educate. If it saves 1 life of another firefighter then it s

Matt Walker No normal person would come away from something like that unscathed. I hope he gets the help he needs.
Iva Gerrard Tuttle Not only should he get full retirement - full disability benefits, but there better be some mental support too. No one that goes through what he did should ever have to fight for benefits
No firefighters were on the tracks and no one was injured, but crews said the minor incident could have turned deadly with bad communication.
Ed Smith, IAFF local 36 president, expressed his concern after the incident.
