Celebrating 100 Years of Service
On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, FDNY Engine Company 291 and Ladder 140 of Queens held their Centennial Celebration. On hand to thank the members for their service were FDNY Officials, local politicians and current and former members. In the true tradition of the FDNY, two members who died in the line of duty - Lieutenant John Mayer in 1929 and Firefighter Joseph Sparacino in 1976 - were remembered for making the supreme sacrifice.
