Stay a safe distance from bonfires. If it's too hot, then you're too close. Sparks can travel some distance from the fire.
Contact your local council if a you feel a bonfire is being built too close to a building, or ring us if the bonfire is alight.
Businesses should not dispose of material in a haphazard fashion as it encourages theft for bonfire fuel.

Today we launched our #dubsafehalloween campaign with the Lord Mayor CrÃona Nà Dhálaigh. We're hoping everyone can have a fun and safe Halloween this year. We're highlighting the dangers of fireworks, go to an organised display, they're much safer. Thanks to Clonburris National Schoolfor helping out.
Firefighters from HQ demonstrating the dangers of fireworks on a model hand & pumpkin. D Watch also showed schoolchildren from Clonburris National School why water & chip pan fires don't mix. Enjoy Halloween safely !
On Friday night Brian O'Connell from the Sean O'Rourke show on RTÉ Radio 1 , and author of "Wasted" came in to spend a few hours with us in HQ.

If you're bringing your Ferrari out for a Sunday spin, do your usual safety checks. Oil, coolant, wipers, NCT and Tyres... Make sure they are facing the right way!
In a week where we saved a Ferrari from a fire it reminded us of this incident from 2012 on the M50.
Crews from B Watch Tallaght knew they were going to an overturned car, but got a surprise when it was a bright yellow Ferrari. Just when you think you've seen it all.

Did you know so far in 2015, 33% of all vehicle fatalities had no safety belts on at the time of the collision.
We are collecting in aid of Cheeverstown House tomorrow at The Square Tallaght. Come along and support us, we'll have one of our fire engines and a vintage american tender too! We'll be at the cinema entrance from 0930 - 1730.
Yesterday we had a very special visit from young Senan, his mother, father, brothers and sister. Senan made a rushed entry in to the world last Monday, 5th October, with assistance from our Firefighter/Paramedics Robert Earley and Cian Malone.
During their busy day shift the HQ based paramedics were requested to assist Jenni at home who’s baby was not going to wait. On arrival at the house the two reassured the young family and within ten minutes assisted in the delivery of Senan. The pair brought mum and baby to the Coombe maternity hospital.
To show their appreciation of our two paramedics, and the Dublin Fire Brigade, the baby was named Senan Robert Cian. We’d like to thank Jenni for taking the time to contact us and coming in to visit.
We’ve two very proud firefighters!

Our very good friend Firefighter/Paramedic Ian "Frodo" McCormack realised his dream this week as he traveled to NYC with his young family.
Ian has been with Dublin Fire Brigade for over 10 years, however, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer 2 years ago. His friends and family arranged a number of fundraisers to make his dream come true, including Mountain climbs and cycles.
Today Frodo was sworn in as a honorary firefighter with the FDNY. We would like to thank First Deputy Commissioner Robert R. Turner Jr. & Chief-of-Department James E. Leonard, and all of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) to make this possible.
