After a crowd of 42,231 was led in a video board rendition of “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” by late Cubs great Ron Santo, deGrom retired the Cubs in order in his final inning, sending the game to the eighth with the Cubs trailing 5-2. Game 3 of the NLCS has been filled with heroic actions in a pivotal game. Despite going up against baseball’s hottest pitcher in New York’s Jacob deGrom, the Cubs were able to land a few shots on him.
With the Cubs down a run, Jorge Soler took a pitch straight to centerfield for a game tying home run to make the score 2-2.

Saying New York Mets slugger Daniel Murphy is experiencing a resurgence in his career is proving to be a bit of an understatement.
The 30-year-old mashed a home run Tuesday to put the Mets on top of the Cubs 2-1. It was Murphy’s fifth straight game that he hit a ball over the outfield wall.

There were many great stories in baseball this year, and while the Cubs breathed new life into their fan base this season, Mets fans were just as impressed by their team’s effective postseason push.
Murphy may singlehandedly become the x-factor in a series between two evenly matched teams.

The Cubs’ young guys won’t let this team go out in the playoffs easily.
Even though Kyle Schwarber is one of the younger Cubbies, he proves that a powerful bat knows no age restrictions. In Tuesday’s Game 3 of the NLCS, Schwarber took a full-count pitch for a long ride over the Wrigley Field bleachers to tie the game at a run apiece.
