Discourse & Intercourse:
Sex in the Age of the App

Whether in the market for love or just a ‘quickie,’ chances are you’re looking on your smartphone.  Are the abundance of “intimacy” apps bringing us closer together or pushing us further apart?  Come explore the implications of easy access.
Panelists:
Jason Kurtz*, MA LCSW-R is the Director of Training at The Training Institute for Mental Health.  A psychoanalyst who is also trained in EMDR, Jason has many years of experience working with patients for whom intimacy, attachment and relationships have been core issues in treatment.  His recently published memoir, Follow the Joy chronicles Jason’s journey through India and how that experience helped him find his calling as a therapist.
Dayna M. Kurtz*, LMSW, CPT is the Director of the Anna Keefe Women’s Center at the Training Institute for Mental Health.  Both a licensed social worker and certified personal fitness trainer, Dayna also completed postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy with couples.  Her clinical and research interests center around designing programs aimed at the enhancement of wellness for the mind and the body.  She is profiled in the recently published hardcoverFifty Shrinks and has been consulted for articles published on iVillage andtoday.com.
