City Politicians Accuse Salvation Army of Illegal Rentals

The Salvation Army has been accused of illegally renting rooms"hotel-style" to seniors at its Williams Memorial Residence on the Upper West Side
According to The Daily News, the Williams has a long tradition of leasing out "guest rooms" to friends and families of the building's residents. However, that practice is illegal, since the building fails to comply with many standard hotel regulations. The Department of Buildings issued the violation on Wednesday after Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer —a noted hater of illegal hotels—called for an investigation.
