Very cool to see. But that's about it. If you have time to make the stop along your way, and you're a big fan of the movie, stop by and snap some picks. Talk to the firemen and get a few picks of yourself in front of the ghostbusters signs and move on with your day.- Darin G.

Hook & Ladder 8 is one of the stops that a Ghostbusters fan has to make while in NYC. I came here just wanting to see the structure in person and snap a few photos to say that I was there, but I got all sentimental and had flashbacks of when I was a kid and watched the movies over and over on VHS, then had to wait 5 minutes to rewind the tape to watch it again.
By the way, this is still an operating fire station, so you'll most likely see firemen rolling out of here in their fire trucks than Venkman, Ray, Spengler, and Winston zooming out in their custom hearse. Just an FYI, so it's probably best to keep your distance and snap your photos from across the street.
Even if it's out of your way, I recommend visiting Hook & Ladder if you want to feel all nostalgic about Stay Puft, Zuul, Vigo the Carpathian, and Twinkies.- Mike G.

Who ya gonna call ? NYC's most famous movie landmark ! Easy access by car subway or bus. A must see for any GB fan or NYC buff. Hopefully when you go the door will be up so the GB 2 sign is in plain sight.- Dewan A.

1 check-inListed in NYCThis is my childhood coming back to me. I always wanted to visit it, and finally made it. Great place to come for a pilgrimage if you love Ghostbusters. For me taking some pictures of this place made my NYC trip well worth it.- 1 check-inGhostbusters is still my favorite comedy of all time. As such I've always wanted to visit here (thank you Dewan for your recent visit to remind me to do the same on my stay/vacation). So I walk up....I take a picture from afar. I then have my girlfriend take of pic of me in front of the fire house...so then what?!?!? Exactly, that's the problem. Other than seeing it there is nothing to do. Some will get lucky enough to see doors open to take better pics of the GB2 sign but ultimately that's all you can do here....unless you have your own Proton Pack and a copy of Tobin's Spirit Guide.

It is great to get a little bit of movie site seeing in when you are in lower manhattan.
This firehouse can be easy to miss. In the movie it is larger then life. In real life...the only sign it was in 3 blockbuster movies is a painting on the sidewalk.
It is really convenient to the subway lines --- the 1 train and also the A, C, and the E lines.
This is right in the heart of Tribeca.
I also made a video of the exterior to better show the site:

We were on vacation from Houston and one of our stops had to be the iconic Ghostbusters firehouse. We took several pictures from the windows in front and could see the sign and pole from the movie. We had someone from the area snap a couple of pictures of us and we were about to leave when we heard a horn from the fire truck.YES,it was the crew from Hook and Ladder #8 rolling in from a call. They were tired, sweaty and am sure they wanted to rest. The last thing they wanted to probably see was some tourists taking photos, lol. We ask if they could let us take some pictures of the inside and they said sure. They could not have been any nicer or accommodating. We just wanted them to know how much we appreciated them doing that for us.I just hope someone from higher up reads this and knows what they did for us and how nice they were.- Sunny P.

When I was visiting my friend in NYC, he said he was sad that he had never visited this place. We made the pilgrimage and we are glad that we did.
We happened to go on Halloween, so the firehouse was open and there were a couple of firefighters handing out candy to the kids. We asked them a couple of questions and they were really nice. You could tell they were proud of it's history.
The best part was all the kids dressed for Halloween were coming by, and you could see there faces light up and they would get excited when they realized this is where Ghostbusters takes place! That was really fun!- Jake B.

1 check-inWho ya gonna call? I can't believe that a lot of people, locals included, don't know this is here. If you grew up in the 80s then you have to come here. Really cool to see it in person. It's actually a functioning fire station. If you look through the window on the door you can see the sign from Ghostbusters 2 that hung out front hanging on the wall.- The Iconic HQ for the famed franchise. It is a local spot for us Ghostbusters to regularly meet up before hitting up spots in the city. The Firefighters roll their eyes when they see GhostBusters stroll up but I guess after being in NYC for so many years you have seen it all..
Glad I can still call it home. Was this review …?
