UPDATED: The UK's finance minister George Osborne has told a press conference in Stockholm that he hopes to work closely with his Swedish counterpart, Magdalena Andersson, as he attempts to push his case for reform in Europe.

UPDATED: There was gloomy financial news first thing on Monday morning as Stockholm's stock market immediately fell by around three percent following a major slump in China which has affected markets across the globe.

    Sweden will increase its military cooperation with the United States, according to Swedish Defence Minister Peter Hultqvist. In an interview published on Saturday, he said the reason was Russian actions which had unsettled the security situation in Europe.
